Asset Protection Planning & Strategies
There are many strategies to take the necessary steps in order to protect your hard earned assets. Unfortunately, there is not a simple solution for every situation. Barbados - The History
Barbados is a popular Caribbean nation located near Saint Vincent & Grenadines and Saint Lucia on its western side and Trinidad and Tobago on its southern side. Barbados derives its name from the old Portuguese word for "bearded ones" however historically it is not clear as to whether this name was given because of the bearded inhabitants of the island, or because of the prominence of the bearded fig-tree on the island. Further speculation has further added to the confusion behind the origins of the name as some have gone further to suggest that the name was given due to the foam that sprayed over the outlying reefs on the island which made them resemble a beard. Barbados was first[..]

Criminal Law Considerations - Toe the Line in 2009
Criminal Law is changing fast and some day they may actually make many illegal drugs legal. Decriminalizing drugs may mean fewer criminals, but it most likely will not mean less drug use, probably more. This will cause millions of Americans to be released from prison and jail and proponents of this concept say the government can then tax it to make up for at least some of the shortfalls in the government's budget. Apparently, there will also be some criminal law cases from the hunt to collect tax monies from citizens that use off shore tax havens. This will surely land some prominent and wealthy citizens into prison, and they will most likely be "odd-men-out" with the current political[..]

How Should You Hold Title To Real Estate?
How you take title to your real estate will have major implications. My recommendation is that you hold title in a way that will avoid probate, which simply takes some of your estate and gives it to attorneys, not to mention it delays the distribution of your estate to your beneficiaries. It is also good to have asset protection in mind when you buy real estate. And I recommend you seek to avoid paying unecessary taxes, and the method of transferring title should consider capital gains taxes. Some of the ways you may hold title to real estate and personal property include: 1. As husband and wife with the right of survivorship; 2. As husband and wife as joint tenants (may or[..]

Are you thinking of setting up a Panama Corporation, Foundation, or Panama LLC? The initial process is straightforward. The cost can vary from about US$1,500 to US$5,000. You might find some a little cheaper, but many law firms in Panama have an unpleasant habit of adding hidden charges later for documents you didn't know you needed - so beware. Not nearly as straightforward, however, is the process of opening a bank account in Panama. Let's compare this to the USA for a moment. The USA is still one of the easiest places in the world to open a bank account. Answer a few questions, sign some forms, and, hey presto, you've got yourself a bank account. Offshore Banking - Fiction Vs Fact
FICTION: Offshore banking can't be that good because they can't really pay the high interest rates they offer. If they could really pay those rates then U.S. banks would try to be competitive and have the same interest rates. FACT: Examine closely the financial statements of any U.S. Bank. You will see that their "gross" profits against customer deposits can range from 25% to 40% -- but -- they have laws written in stone to limit the interest amount they can pay customers on their deposits. The U.S. banks place their earnings into unnecessary frills and non-productive expenditures like fancy buildings etc., while offshore banking facilities don't do this and share their profits with[..]

How to Open a Secret Offshore Bank Account
Why do people put their money in secret offshore accounts? Privacy - Many people, mostly for valid reasons, don't want others to know how much money they have. Asset Protection - For those who live in politically or economically unstable places, it's a risk to keep assets in-country. Then again, with fears for the liquidity of big banks in supposedly stable countries, more and more people don't trust their own banks to have money available when they really need it. Tax Efficiency - You can legally reduce the amount you pay in taxes. So why should it be secret? Governments change, their tax laws change, and your finances will change accordingly - unless you have your money in a private[..]

The Holy Grail of Private Banking Has Been Found
As a middle aged, middle class, married, business owner, father of 3 (one in college….argh) freedom seeker, I have sought for many years to establish the knowledge, the relationships, and the resources needed to make a lifestyle of financial privacy and freedom available to me and my family. Many have found that without doing something “shady” or “under the table” or downright illegal, and having to constantly be looking over your shoulder to see who is[..]

The acquisition of Switzerland bank accounts has had a great deal of mystery attached to it for some, and for others, a great deal of frustration.
